This is a brilliant article by Chris Grant of BabelQuest - coming from the perspective of selling sales teams on new tech (very relevant for CANDDi!) but equally relevant for inspiring any team to get into good habits.
Frame the problem as their problem - show how this habit will help them solve it - get team members involved so they buy in - gamify it and keep pushing until at least some are seeing results!
If you have ever managed a sales team, or had anything to do with trying to get a sales team to adopt new technology or a new methodology, you probably have a bruise somewhere on your head from repeatedly banging it against a brick wall. It's similar to the weekly/monthly/quarterly push to get everyone using the CRM properly, or fill in the expense form or put the latest training into practise.
